Exploring Prison Siting in Rural America

A library should be a trusted neighborhood think-tank, equitable source for civic thinking, and clearinghouse for community-wide resources. In that regard, the rural local library should consider the many challenges that face rural America in the 21st century; including the development of rural landscapes for the purposes of economic revitalization. One of these issues involves the economic impacts of prison growth and prison siting in small town America.
